Course Overview

Eligibility

Students who have passed HS/10+2 (Science) with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate with PCB will be eligible to apply for admission. The minimum marks for eligibility are 45% in aggregate for the reserve categories.

Specific Outcomes

  •  1. Impart knowledge and understanding of fundamental concepts and techniques of maintaining and enhancing soil fertility, crop production, crop management, crop improvement, agri-business, organic farming, biodiversity and sustainable agriculture.
  •  2. Develop the ability to know farming practices and their scope to improve agricultural productivity and the environment in rural areas.
  •  3. Apply knowledge of basic science through Agricultural microbiology, Plant biochemistry and Biotechnology.
  •  4. Apply knowledge of Agri-business management and finance to develop a profitable agricultural production system.
  •  5. Improve understanding of farming and farmers’ conditions through the Rural Work Experience Programme.
  •  6. Inculcate self-confidence in farming and marketing tactics through Experiential Learning.
